The difference between midi files and audio backing tracks
Unlike midi files and styles you can listen to audio backing tracks on an ordinary MP3 player. The audio backing tracks on midispot.com are MP3 files without lead voices – this is also why we call them audio backing tracks.
The purpose of audio
You can use the audio backing tracks without a keyboard or any kind of sound source. In this way audio is very flexible. If you are a singer you can even use your smart phone as a player and sing along with the audio backing tracks.
The downside of audio is that you cannot change the music once it is recorded.
Should you choose audio or midi?
If you want the flexibility to change the music and if you have a good sound source you should definitely choose midi files.
If your sound source lacks a bit in quality and if you do not need to change the backing you should select the audio backing tracks.
