Below you will see an outline of what the different formats on this website covers.
Midi files and styles for Yamaha instruments
Midi Spot works with the following Yamaha formats:
Tyros5
Tyros4
Tyros3
Tyros2
Tyros
XA/XG (XG as a minimum supports 480 sounds and 3 DSP effect processors and XA apply panel instruments as well.)
In the shop you have to choose the Yamaha instrument you own. Subsequently, we will show you how well the midi files and styles utilise the potential in your chosen instrument by using the ‘Match function’.
We show you each product in the available format that best utilises the potential in the keyboard that you have chosen.
Midi files in GM format
GM is short for General Midi and is a standard format, which can be played on nearly all keyboards and digital pianos. Keep an eye on the ‘General Midi’ logo on your instrument. This format contains access to 128 sounds and 1 DSP (effect-processor - Digital Signal Processing).
If you own an instrument of an other make than Yamaha you have to choose GM midi files. In case you are not satisfied with the sound quality we recommend our MP3 audio backing tracks.
Audio backing tracks
The audio files on this website are MP3 files without melody voice. That is why we also refer to them as audio backing tracks.
